Crisis pregnancy counselling is designed to help and support you in coping with your unplanned pregnancy. Counselling may be given by a qualified counsellor, a social worker or a trained volunteer depending on the agency you go to. The counsellor’s training and skills will help you to explore your feelings about the pregnancy.
After you have called the service you want to attend you will be given an appointment. Some organisations have a drop-in service, where you can call in without making an appointment. Your counselling session will take place in total privacy. Each session usually lasts about an hour.
